R.S.Khurmi was born on 29 Aug 1939 in Sunam, a little town in Punjab. He successfully his professional studies from Phagwara and Delhi. He started his career with an Engineer in Irrigation Department . After guidance from one of the Professor Das of Chandigarh Engineering College, Dr. Khurmi came to Delhi and took up Teaching and Writing Engineering Text Books as a full time career. He had an excellent respect for his Guru Shri B.L. Theraja, who introduced him to S. Chand and Company. Now, his books got an prideful market, not only in India but also abroad.

J.K. Guptais a most popular author of Engineering and Technical books across the world and has been associated with S. Chand Company since 1975. He was born on 27th Dec, 1942 and completed his technical studies from Punjab and Delhi. He possesses more than 32 years of huge experience of teaching various engineering subjects at various levels. He has authored a  wide range of engineering textbooks, which are very popular among engineering students ,graduates and teaching faculty in India and abroad and are best sellers in their respective categories. His rich experience in teaching is clearly reflected in his books which are known for easy understanding, simple language.
